Interim Mental Health and Wellness Therapist

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Interim Mental Health and Wellness Therapist will provide trauma-informed, client-centered therapeutic support to individuals actively experiencing exploitation. This position ensures continuity of mental health services during a period of transition and supports OPS participants with stabilization and healing through individual and group-based therapy. The Therapist collaborates with partner agencies and community providers to facilitate access to mental health and substance use resources, fostering a comprehensive and holistic approach to client care.

This interim role is designed to bridge the gap while OPS’s long-standing therapist is out for health-related reasons. Once the current therapist is ready and able to return to work remotely, this role will transition to a part-time position to complement her as she steps into a supervisory capacity. In the interim, this position will report to the Executive Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing and one-time crisis intervention services to survivors of CSE, utilizing low-barrier, trauma-informed therapeutic interventions.

  • Deliver individual therapy, coping skills support, and accompaniment to survivors.

  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate 1-2 mental health/coping skills groups per month.

  • Build trust-based relationships with survivors of complex trauma, focusing on stabilization and referrals to long-term therapeutic resources.

  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide referrals for psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and other mental health services as needed.

  • Maintain confidential, accurate documentation of client interactions, including intakes, assessments, and progress notes.

  • Collaborate with OPS Advocates to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

  • Participate in crisis interventions and debriefs as required.

  • Assist in creating and providing quarterly internal training to deepen staff understanding of trauma-informed practices.

  • Contribute to community training on therapeutic modalities and best practices in collaboration with leadership.

  • Support the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on therapeutic services and relevant grants/contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Active Washington State licensure (LMFT, LMHC, LICSW, LASW) or active associate-level credential with a pathway to full licensure.

  • Ability to pass a background check according to OPS policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma’s impact on the body and mind, with experience addressing codependency, addiction, healthy boundaries, and PTSD.

  • Skilled in mindfulness practices, group facilitation, and engaging participants who may be therapy-averse.

  • Working knowledge of Commercial Sexual Exploitation, gender-based violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, homelessness, and substance dependence.

  • Familiarity with complex trauma, systemic oppression, and intersectional issues such as sex-based oppression, racism, and poverty.

  • Empathetic and calm under pressure, with the ability to guide clients through crises.

  • Strong documentation and confidentiality skills.

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and collaborative team player.

  • Passion for social systems change and dismantling systems of oppression, including white supremacy, patriarchy, heterosexism, and classism.

TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENT

SCHEDULE

  • 36-hour work week completed Monday through Friday

  • This role is expected to meet onsite with participants Tuesday through Thursday.

  • Standard work hours are between 10 am and 6 pm.

  • OPS employees currently work a mixture of remote and in-person shifts. In-person work will include duties at our office location and outreach/partner meetings in the Seattle area when necessary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • This position will begin at 1.0 FTE and is expected to move to 0.5 FTE (18-25 hours per week) after 6 months.

  • Hourly position ranging from $33/hour to $37/hour based on experience.

CSE Survivor Advocate

REPORTS TO: Director of Survivor Services

LOCATION: Seattle, Washington

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Organization for Prostitution Survivors will sustain and expand upon its services by

adding a full-time CSE SURVIVOR ADVOCATE. The CSE Advocate will assist in the creation and facilitation of

survivor-centered/ -led, trauma-informed, and culturally specific holistic services for survivors of sexual

exploitation. This position requires an empathetic, resilient, and passionate individual who is comfortable

providing assistance to those in crisis and developing healing relationships with members of the OPS community.

We are looking for an individual with lived or professional experience in CSE and a deep understanding of the sex

trade. OPS values passionate self-starters with the ability to utilize best practices in holistic care. This position will

be responsible for managing a typical caseload of 25 active adult participants.

Job Duties:

  • Participate in creating a healing community for all participants including ongoing and one-time crisis intervention or recovery services utilizing low-barrier therapeutic interventions

  • Interface and build relationships with survivors of complex trauma with the intention of stabilization and referral to long-term therapeutic resources

  • Liaises with the Seattle City Attorney’s Office, Seattle Police Department, and Probation to identify and provide outreach to individuals currently facing arrest through pre-filing for Prostitution offenses

  • Works with participants experiencing one of the above systems to fulfill Seattle municipal code requirements for diversion and report to Seattle City Attorney’s Office, Probation, and Seattle Municipal Court on completion of diversion requirements

  • Attend the ASC Direct Service monthly meetings and other community meetings as necessary

  • Deliver all services and strategies in a manner that is culturally sensitive and centers the strengths and dignity of the person.

  • Provide 1:1 and group recovery services for a typical caseload of 25 active clients

  • Create a healing path and plan for participants including, in-takes, case management, safety/service plans, referrals, and clinical strategies that move toward individualized health goals

  • Participate in crisis interventions, case consultations, and debriefs with the Survivor Services Team

  • Connect participants to relevant in-house and partner services that supply healing-centered service provisions that utilize the following interventions: motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic/yoga therapy, therapeutic art, mutual aid groups, harm reduction, and low barrier services

  • Complete intakes, provide long-term case management and support participants in identifying and documenting case management goals

  • Engage participants in a manner that is culturally sensitive and centers the strengths and dignity of the person

  • Participate in the programming of other services; such as drop-ins, support groups, outreach events, and activities

  • Participate in community collaborations and partnerships to ensure the most appropriate and culturally relevant resources and referrals are available for participants

  • Assist with coordination and engage in street-based outreach events

  • Participate in supervision & team meetings as directed by the supervisor and/or director

  • Other duties, as assigned

CSEC Survivor Advocate

REPORTS TO: CSEC Program Manager and/or Director of Survivor Services

LOCATION: Seattle, Washington and mobile throughout King County

The Organization for Prostitution Survivors will sustain and expand upon its services by adding a full-time CSEC Advocate.

The CSEC Advocate will assist in the creation and facilitation of survivor-centered/ -led, trauma-informed, and culturally specific holistic services for youth survivors of sexual exploitation.

The CSEC Advocate works alongside survivors of sexual exploitation utilizing healing-centered services, harm reduction, and relationship-based mentorship.

The OPS Survivor Services team works to meet the emergency and long-term needs of adults and youth who are impacted by the sex trade. This position requires an empathetic, resilient, and passionate individual who is comfortable providing services to those in crisis and developing healing relationships with members of the OPS community.

This position is responsible for managing a caseload of 15-25 youth (Ages 11-17). OPS values passionate self-starters with the ability to utilize best practices in holistic care.

Job Duties

  • Participate in creating a healing community for all participants including ongoing and one-time crisis intervention or recovery services utilizing low barrier therapeutic interventions

  • Interface and build relationships with survivors of complex trauma with the intention of stabilization and referral to long-term therapeutic resources

  • Attend the Bridge Collaborative monthly meeting, ConnectUp conference call case staffings first Thursday of the month, the quarterly CSEC task force meeting, and all other meetings that pertain to CSEC youth and services or if requested by their supervisor.

  • Deliver all services and strategies in a manner that is culturally sensitive and centers the strengths and

    dignity of the person

  • Provide 1:1 and mobile flexible advocacy services for a typical caseload of 15-25 active clients.

  • Create a healing path and plan for participants including: referrals for mental health assessments,

    psychiatric evaluations, SUD assessments, and other clinical strategies that move toward individualized

    health goals.

  • Participate in crisis interventions, case consultations, and debriefs with the Survivor Services Team.

  • Provide healing-centered service provision that utilizes the following interventions: Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed care, CBT, DBT, ACT, Somatic/Yoga Therapy, Therapeutic Art, Mutual Aid groups, Harm Reduction, and Low Barrier Services.

  • Complete intakes, provide long-term case management, and support participants to identify and document case management goals.

  • Support in the programming of other services when necessary/as needed, such as drop-ins, support groups, and activities

  • Participate in community collaborations and partnerships to ensure the most appropriate and culturally relevant resources and referrals are available for participants.

  • Participate in supervision once a week with the Youth Program Manager for mentorship & attend weekly team meetings (case consult, staff meetings, etc.) as directed by supervisor and/or director

  • Mobile flexible advocacy services for youth and adults are crucial to case management-certain days of the week out of the office to meet clients for MFA. Ability to work remotely and take initiative with remote work

  • Collaboration and networking with outside agencies who serve CSEC youth

  • Facilitation and presentation of OPS training sessions when needed

  • Continued professional development as a survivor leader with attending conferences, webinars, and community events. Accepting speaking engagements as appropriate

  • Submit monthly reporting on time and become familiar with and appropriately implement Apricot Social Solutions system and keep up to date with data entry including case notes, service planning, intakes, DCA requests, and work logs.
